The good news for the Magpies is that the Netherlands international is reportedly keen to extend his stay in the north-east, and that means the only slight hurdle would be providing the necessary funds.

There is a fixed price agreed, however, which means he should make the switch whenever the Magpies make the appropriate bid, and it is certainly a chance they shouldn’t miss out on.
Newcastle have spent a great deal on the striker department with little return, and that means they should do whatever they can to hold onto their best performers, which includes Willems.
