da spicy bet: Aston Villa will host Swansea on Saturday in Dean Smith’s first game in charge of the club he has supported his whole life, and a large majority of the Villa fans that answered our recent poll wanted their new boss to start winger Anwar El Ghazi.
da poker: The former Dutch international joined on loan from French side Lille in the summer, but only made five appearances under Steve Bruce before the 57-year-old was sacked, with the club floundering below mid-table.
Villa are now 15th in the Championship and Smith will need to turn things around quickly if they are to go one better than last season, where they lost 1-0 in the playoff final to Fulham and missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
With one goal and one assist, El Ghazi clearly has talent and the ability to produce the goods in the Championship if given the chance and he could fit well into the 4-2-3-1 system that Smith has favoured so far this season with his Brentford side.
