da luck: Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere could be set for the door mark exit at The Emirates as The Guardian report the Gunners are ready to sell the England international for as little as £9m.
What’s the word?
da marjack bet: With Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looking to conduct a complete overhaul of his squad this summer it looks as if Wilshere’s time is up.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth in an attempt to kick-start his career and remain in the fold for the Three Lions, however, after his season was cut short by yet another injury problem – his plan was foiled.
With Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka forming a tight pairing in middle towards the end of last season, it seems there is little room for Wilshere at Arsenal, with Sampdoria in Serie A supposedly his most likely destination this summer.
A new Wenger?
The Frenchman has often been criticised for his naivety in the transfer market as well as his reliance on youth and tendency to give his youngsters chances they perhaps do not deserve.
Time and again Wilshere was given a last chance to impress in north London, having showed so much promise when he broke through, and time and again it paid no dividend.
If the Gunners are to return to the top under Wenger then the former Monaco boss is going to have to show a cold streak in the market and the fact that he is willing to let the midfielder he so adored leave for just £9m perhaps shows he’s turned a corner.
