Inter Milan will send scouts to watch Lyon ace Lucas Tousart and are ready to rival Tottenham Hotspur in the market for the midfielder, according to Calcio Mercato.
What’s the word?
Mauricio Pochettino is likely to strengthen his Spurs squad after an extremely quiet summer transfer window and the Lilywhites are already being linked with a number targets, where the midfield looks set to be an area of focus.
According to Calcio Mercato, Tottenham are keen to sign 21-year-old French midfielder Lucas Tousart from Lyon but will face stern competition in the market for his signature as Inter Milan are also eyeing a move.
The reports state Inter are set to send scouts to watch the 12-cap France U21 international in action over the course of the coming weeks, while also identifying that any interested party will have to match Lyon’s asking price of £31.3m.
Who is he?
Widely regarded to be one of the best young midfielders in European football, Tousart has established himself as a regular in Lyon’s side since making his Ligue 1 debut in August 2015 at the age of just 18. Since then, he’s earned 65 Ligue 1 appearances.

Scoring just once in the league so far in his career, Tousart is a defensively-minded midfielder that sits in front of the defence, with his main attributes being his tackling and willingness to get stuck in, while he is also strong in the air.
Spurs’ reported interest in Tousart comes amidst continued speculation regarding the long-term future of Mousa Dembele, whose contract with the Lilywhites expires at the end of the season and could depart North London.
