Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has made his moral stance known on Twitter, following a controversial decision made regarding his former teammate.Chelsea striker, Tammy Abraham, who was on loan at Villa Park last season, was racially abused by a Wolverhampton Wanderers fan when he scored a hat-trick in a 5-2 victory this season. The Wolves fan in question has been given a four-year ban from watching matches by Dudley Magistrates’ Court for the offence, as reported by Sky Sports.

While this may seem like justice to some, Grealish has shown the view that this is nowhere near a heavy enough sentence for what he did.
He compared this to the suggestion that a Newcastle United fan was banned for life, after indecently exposing himself following Allan Saint-Maximin’s winner against Oxford United.
While this has since been disproved by The Daily Star, the point still stands that the idea of that being treated so harshly, while racism is dealt with in that way shows attitudes need to be tougher towards it.
Red Herring or Real Hero: Only hardcore Villa fans will get all of them right….
In truth, Grealish is completely correct, as while he was fined a total of £1,450, the fan will be back in the stands in four years, meaning that he could revert to that way of thinking and repeat those actions.
If that does go on to happen, it has to be questioned whether the ruling has actually done much to help the game combat this issue.
Meanwhile, Villa fans feel that Grealish has been robbed.
